A silent service dinner is a fun way to show off the skills learned in the workshop. Guests and servers alike will be active participants. While we want to have fun, please remember that this is a formal dinner.
Dinner will be a 3-course meal served by the workshop participants. Guests and servers alike will have an opportunity to experience silent service in a fairly formal environment. The dinner's menu will be finalized prior to the workshop announcement. The menu should include only one selection of each course.
The main reasons for this dinner are:
Presenters and Service Team Leads:
dove dove is a submissive who has been active for several years and has been part of the the Kitchener-Waterloo scene for the past 6 years. Accustomed to developing and presenting workshops and seminars in her career, dove has in the past coordinated and hosted many events, formal dinners and galas for municipal governments, service clubs and international sports events. In April 2008, dove's book A Submissive Speaks was released and continues to receive positive feedback from dominants and submissives alike.
abi abi is a submissive who has been active in the BDSM community in Kitchener-Waterloo for about 8 years and for over 6 of those years has been collared to her Master, Achilles. She has participated with him in the development and delivery of workshops on Flogging Technique (mostly as the target) and on Scene Dynamics. Achilles and abi share a D/s relationship which is rich in tradition and ritual.
Audience:
Dinner: Open to all your guests. The maximum number of guests will depend on the number of people on your service team (not including dove or abi). A server can effectively serve an average of six to eight (6 - 8) guests without compromising the quality (heat) of the main course.
For up to 50 guests: 6 - 8 servers
For up to 75 guests: 9 - 12 servers
For up to 100 guests: 13 - 16 serversService team: The service team will be comprised of those who have already completed the formal dining workshop. A 2-hour workshop will be conducted prior to the silent service dinner for the service team. During this workshop, table assignment and last-minute information will be shared with the service team.

- Servers will receive direction only from the dinner coordinators during dinner.
- Servers will have made any necessary arrangements to be free of any other commitments during the dinner service.
- No guest will make demands of the servers that are not related to dinner service

Cost-saving Opportunities:
This dinner can immediately follow a Formal Dinner Workshop.
While the formal dinner workshop can be offered twice in the same weekend (on different days) by two different local groups, we would not suggest attempting two silent service dinners in the same area. If combined with two workshops, the silent service dinner should be held after both formal dinner workshops.)
Note:
There are two categories of participants to this event: guests and your service team.
Your service team will not be seated with your guests, but you should ensure that a meal is available to them prior to, or following, the dinner service.
You will therefore need an area where they can eat, away from your guests.
You will need to decide if you will be charging your service team for dinner. You may consider including the cost of their meals in your admission price.
Your guests are welcome to attend the 2-hour workshop prior to dinner as observers if they so desire.
Your Sargent-at-Arms must attend the workshop.
